Make The Right Choice When It Comes To Futon Frames

As you begin your search for a futon you should pay close attention to the style and frame material. There are two options for futon frames, one is a bi-fold futon frame that folds in two length-wise creating a sofa. You can also find a tri-fold frame that folds in three creating a chair with a back rest, a sitting area, and an area where you can rest your legs. A bi-fold generally comes in a double or a queen and a tri-fold comes as a double or twin. Depending how much room you have in your home each has its benefits.

Another feature to consider in regards to futon bed frames is whether it is a wood frame or metal frame. The wood frames seem to be more popular than the metal however, as they seem to be more sturdy. Whatever you decide to choose make sure that it is a heavy sturdy bed frame that will be able to take the folding and unfolding motions over time. It is also important to buy a frame that can easily be converted when need be. You may find that some frames are sticky and difficult to inter-change from bed to sofa, so give it a test run to ensure transforming the futon is not a difficult process.

There are many styles of futon beds available, coming in very attractive designs. Some have beautifully designed arm and back rests as well as stylish legs. The wood designs come in different colored stains or if you have your favorite you can get the wood frame unfinished and stain it to your liking. The metal frames again come in many colors but are easily painted to match your decor.

Futons are very convenient as you are getting two uses in one. You can use your futon as a couch by day and a bed by night, and have it match your decor all in one! What a wonderful creation!
