Dr. Horsley is Cornea fellowship trained and Lasik board certified by the American Board of Eye Surgeons, (http://www.aces-abes.org) in addition to being Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Other refractive surgeries performed at the Horsley Eye Center are Conductive Keratoplasty, (to restore reading vision after 40), clear lens exchange, (for sever hyperopia), and the intra ocular contact lens or ICL for extremes of myopia untreatable by laser refractive procedures.
Besides doing all the LASIK procedures for the LASIK Vision Institute, Dr. Horsley also treats his own private patients from his private office in Stoneham. The private patients are all treated EXCLUSIVELY on the VISX STAR 4 laser with active track 3-D eye tracking and WaveScan WaveFront System. The tracker can measure and incredible five times for each pulse of the laser, and shuts the laser off in a 50th of a millisecond should movement exceed the trackers range of motion, the computer that directs the laser remembers where it left off, so the procedure can resume without any adverse effect if the patient needs to cough or sneeze or just inadvertently moves.
Many have read in the lay press of so called SUPER VISION, besides basic optical errors, (standard spero-cylindrical), all of us have some non-standard optical aberrations, (spherical, comma, trefoil), that degrade our vision. With the WaveScan WaveFront System and the Visx CustomVue Platform, these aberrations can be measured and corrected, greatly enhancing the basic optical correction. Each of us has a WaveFront finger print so to say, that can be customized on an individual basis for a refined personalized treatment. The human retina has a resolving capability of around 20/10 vision, but is seldom achieved due to these optical aberrations. The WaveScan WaveFront System has lead to a statically significant improvement in our corrections, many patients actually achieving better than 20/20 vision, in the 20/15-20/10 range.
Dr. Horsley conducts a free monthly seminar on refractive surgery and also offers free no obligation refractive evaluations. Please refer to our web site, (http://www.lasik-clinic-massachusetts.com), or call 781-979-0960, for the dates and more information on Lasik, conductive Keratoplasty, and about your eye health in general.
