What does "time" have to do with getting organized? Everything! Our society today keeps us running and constantly inhaling, seemingly never allowing us to stop and "exhale"!
De-cluttering our workspaces, whether it is our office, our kitchen, or our garage, enables us to be more productive in our daily lives. Once we organize our physical environment, our minds naturally become clearer.
Organizing requires you to think about what's most important to you, freeing up your "time" to enjoy those favorite activities like reading and spending fun time with family and friends. How long has it been since you've invited friends over for dinner and a movie or to play cards? If it's been too long, ask yourself, is it because your house is in such disarray that you're too embarrassed to have anyone see it? You Are Not Alone!
Disorganization is paralyzing for many people and can cause various degrees of stress. It is our biggest "time waster". If you spend 15 minutes each day looking for something, and you earn $20/hr, then disorganization is actually costing you $5/day. Once you make the conscious decision to start getting organized, and stop procrastinating, you have made your first huge step to Freedom!
Reap the benefits of getting organized! You get back "time", along with physical, emotional and financial rewards. You Can Do It! One Area At A Time!
Here's How: Gather four separate bags/boxes, and set them in the room where you are going to begin. 1. Things you'll keep/use. 2. Things to donate. 3. Things to sell (garage sale or on eBay). 4. Things that are trash. Start with one area of your home or office, and focus there until it's sorted into those designated bags/boxes. You'll see how rewarding and how much lighter you'll feel, to have your clutter itemized, and be able to store your much smaller "Keep pile" in an organized space. (If you know you can't do it alone, don't hesitate to call someone in to help; a friend, family member, or a professional).
Spring is right around the corner. Start now, and have a wonderful, stress free summer enjoying friends and family again.
